"When on the road to sweet Athy, Hurroo Hurroo When on the road to sweet Athy, Hurroo Hurroo When on the road to sweet Athy, A stick in the hand, a drop in the eye A doleful damsel I did cry Johnny I hardly knew ya!"
A redhead with brilliant green eyes stood at the gates, singing rather loudly as he skipped a little in his step, tipping back his hat and grinning brightly at the mansion ahead of him. "Whoo, don' ma'e it 'ard ta find ya!" He chuckled brightly, one long slim finger pressing at the button on the gate. His Irish accent charming in a way as he continued to sing, obviously having too much fun.
"We had guns and drums and drums and guns, hurroo hurroo." Humming the rest of the bars he suddenly, and very accidentally, sent a mini blast into the ground. Blushing red to the tips of his ears he looked down at the hole he'd made. "Saints preserve, I should be more careful." Tugging his backpack more firmly on his back, he lightly kicked his duffle bag out of harms way, and then buzzed again. "Oi, anyone 'ome? I've made a trifle bi' of a mess I have."
(Song, just for the record, is 'Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya' from the Dropkick Murphys. ^^)

It was with great disdain that the graceful figure of Emma Frost strolled towards the gate, annoyed that her colleagues allowed the buzzer to ring twice before anyone thought to open it. Why had it ended up with her having to open the blasted gate? Letting people in like some common servant was not something the proud woman did without an ounce of discontent.
She brushed some of her blonde hair behind her shoulder as she drew nearer to the gate. Arching an eyebrow, she looked the redhead over with a condescending look in her cold, blue eyes. When her gaze reached his feet, she noticed a hole in the ground and crossed her arms over her chest. Undoubtedly another mutant unable to control his powers. Oh, splendid.
"So I see," she replied, lifting her hand elegantly and pressing the button that opened the doors of the gate. Surprisingly, it did not creak or even make a sound as the doors swung open. "Who might you be, darling?" she asked, placing one hand on her hip as she spoke in the tone that suggested she knew fully well that she was superior to him - and anyone else, for that matter.

Athena came to a halt, after seeing Emma had answered the door. She had been in the kitchen, and had thought someone else had answered the buzzer; unfortunately, the pierced mutantess thought, for this newcomer, that person had been the 'Ice Queen' (for lack of politer term) Emma Frost. The spiky-haired teenager stood on her tiptoes to see over the blondes' shoulder, from a few feet behind her. The older mutantess was also about four inches taller, and the redhead behind her a few inches taller than that.
"Who is it?", she asked - to either of said mutants.

The red head smiled at Emma, ignoring the look she was giving him . "Oi, 'allo." Judging by her look he decided not to offer his hand. Instead he just took his head of in respect. "M'names Finnegan O'Donnell, I 'ad 'eard there was a l'il niche for uh, mutants." He said, awkwardly resting his weight on one foot, scratching at the side of his head. Oh wow was she awkward to talk to.
He heard another voice and looked beyond Emma, grinning at the girl. "'Course, you lost could prolleh call me Boomer." It was a name he had come up with on his own. His brother, Murphy, had laughed at him for it, but Finnegan had just shoved him. It was better than Gecko, which Murphy had almost decided on. He raised a hand in greeting, to the other mutant really. This person in front of him was rather intimidating.

Athena hardly batted and eyelash at the odd name Boomer. It was, she knew, probably a nickname - or a 'codename', depending on if you were part of a team or not - and with the small, burnt hole in the ground she could easily guess the Irishman's power. The teenager just smiled and nodded, moving past Emma with a rare show of grace; usually, the peirced mutantess was as graceful as an ox, so even she was suprised.
"Glad to meet ya.", she said, her own hand half-waving at the red head, before running said hand through her own spiky, very short hair. 'Butch' some other kids called it; she just thought it was easier to take care of; no tangles, and limited ways to style it. "I'm Athena."

Emma shot Athena a quick glare. "Ice queen, dear?" she asked, eyebrows still arched. She then shifted her attention to the newcomer and looked him over once again. The fact that she read people's minds was something that people seemed to forget surprisingly often. Not that it really bothered her - the petty opinions of others were completely insignificant to her. She did enjoy reminding people that she knew, though.
"This is Xavier Institute for mutants, yes," she then said to the newly arrived redhead. "I'm Emma Frost, the headmistress. It would be lovely if you could step inside the grounds so I could close these gates."

Athena blushed. She kept forgetting that Emma could read minds; actually, she kept forgetting that everyone here had powers, period. Some days, she was even still suprised by Rick's sneezing and turning into a bloodhound - though not as much, the peirced young mutant was proud to say, as when she had first met the doe-eyed lad. The spiky haired youth also kept forgetting that the adults she lived with were not only, well, adults, but also her teachers. Meaning she had been surprised more than once upon having gotten detention for smoking on 'school grounds' in the back lawn.
