Basics
Name: James Thomas Earndt
Mutant name: Kindle
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 142 lbs
Orientation: Its better not to ask
Personnals
Personality: Externally he is a grumpy, volatile and generally a pissed off person. Its not certain why he acts this way, only that it seems to be his main, and perhaps only, emotion. It takes a lot to peel away the layers of anger to reveal any inner reasoning. If one were to get to know him, perhaps, and peel away his protective layers they would meet an oddly complex being who has a deep seated self-doubt stemming from his childhood, and development of his weak mutant powers. Down deep under his protective shell one would find a completely different man.
Seeing as he has no real friends into which he can pour his misgivings and uncertainties, it is unlikely his attitude will change in any near future. Therefore his extremely loyal, self-sacrificing nature is often ignored in place of his waspish retorts and sarcastic demeanor. Which, in turn, only makes him resentful and more prone to stir up fights, or to storm off rather than inadvertently hurt someone.
Like and Dislikes:
+Cigarettes
+Solo projects
+Fire
+Dogs
-Looking weak or inferior
-The dark
-Being judged
-Sweets (prefers salty. ex chips)
Strengths and Weaknesses: Despite the low level of his mutant powers, Kindle actually has a great physical strength, for an above average human. He has good aim, able to hit a target at a thousand yards away. Can vault himself p and over walls and fences with ease, hide in small spaces, and get through air ducts. His only drawback is defense. His mutant powers do nothing for defending himself at all. Nor for attacking really either.
History: As a young child Kindle had already been in a world that wasn't functioning the way it should. His mother and father were always fighting, many fights ending with Kindle's name on the air. Things like 'if it weren't for James' and 'You and your bastard son ruined my life'. For the toddler these words were caught when he was supposed to be in bed one night. By the next morning his father had packed his bags and left in a taxi, pushing his son out of his way as he did.
Without his father around James felt unwanted, his mother often saying he was her 'biggest mistake'. By the time he was in school, he was already a behaviorally challenged violent boy. Eventually a concerned teacher called social services, and at ten years of age, James was removed from his mothers care and put into the foster care system. Where he learned to fight for what he wanted. School was a problem for him, and he often times had better things to do than go to school. Getting into drugs and alcohol with the 'bad crowd'. However he had one place of solace, a gym that offered a course in acrobatics, in which he excelled. He stopped going once he knew the routine and could do it himself.
Things changed drastically when he dropped out of high school at seventeen, due to the manifestation of his mutant powers. That and school no longer held his interest. Leaving school, the foster system, James started working construction, learning to control his powers in steady increments using acrobatics and his days off. He never learned of Xavier's until it was too late. Not that he believed he'd fit in. Soon enough his mutant powers were found out, and he lost his job. Ever since then he has been involved in mutants rights, with Magneto's Brotherhood. Here he fits in, and here he won't be pushed around, so help the fool that pushes him.
Powers: Kindle’s powers are rather irritating. He makes small fiery fireflies. Little glowing orbs that attack viciously (with actually very sharp fiery teeth) when he’s in danger. Despite getting minor burns, gashes and tears, the fireballs are relatively harmless, which makes Kindle have a hard time in fights. What he lacks in his fire power, however, he gains in having an immunity to extreme hot and cold. (And the ability to slip under the radar of the Sentinels, therefore allowing him to get into refuge camps for humans. Not known/used until Sentinels make their appearance. Used in Apocalyptic section.)
Extras: Has tattoo on arms, and one on his chest. Has trained to have a better reaction time, and the abilities of an acrobat. Has a motorcycle stashed somewhere, can sometimes be seen with his helmet *see photo* which are in the same colors as his bike.
